Dear Colleagues,
dear Friends of Haemostaseology,

On behalf of the “Gesellschaft für Thrombose- und Hämostaseforschung” (GTH), we are happy to invite you to the 68th Scientific Meeting in Vienna from February 27th to March 1st, 2024. It is our pleasure to host this GTH Meeting in Vienna, the cultural, economic, and political center of Austria, situated at the geographical heart of Europe. Moreover, Vienna houses one of the oldest universities in Europe and has a long tradition of biomedical research.

The field of thrombosis and haemostasis currently experiences many advances and developments in basic research are translated to improve patient care. We invite all scientists and health care professionals working in the highly interdisciplinary field of coagulation to join us and share new knowledge, expertise and practical experience, and to use this opportunity to interact and to extend our networks.

“Building Bridges in Coagulation” is the motto of the GTH 2024 meeting. Together with you we want to explore bridges in coagulation with the goal to develop more comprehensive and synergistic approaches to the scientific evaluation, diagnosis, prophylaxis and treatment of coagulation disorders and related diseases. The congress program will focus on building bridges between bleeding and thrombosis, basic science and clinical care, diagnosis and therapy, across age groups, across genders, between medical specialties, in-patient and out-patient care, and many more.

Another important bridge we want to strengthen is the collaboration with the neighboring countries of Austria in the East (Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia), with whom we have strong historical bonds. We have invited colleagues from these countries into our scientific committee and will organize special joint symposia. Thereby we aim to facilitate the exchange between these countries and the GTH countries, widening the scope of Central European collaboration.

Vienna welcomes all those interested in haemostaseology in February 2024.
